REST

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Genesis 2:2-3

 REST

Take a moment.

Feel the pause

between the too-fast pacing

and slow.

Hear the things

learned only in still.

There’s a kind of language

reserved
for the quiet spaces
and a restoration

lavished
on the souls

brave enough to

listen.

The world whirls a

thousand times
and we can whirl
our whole lives

without even knowing

we had a choice.

The Sabbath invitation

feels radical.
An opportunity to trade

productivity for

quiet communion.

As a parent cradles a

sleeping child,
Sabbath begs us
rest within the gentle hold

of our Heavenly Father.

Let all creation

learn to breathe

this new rhythm

of rest,

and find soul

restoration in this

rhythm that echoes

eternity.
