HOME

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 91:1-2

 Home

Where my heart and mind are at rest

When I can stop

Not always chasing but remaining

Filled with fullness, satisfied longings

Contented, safe, stilled

No pretence, no faking

I can just be me

Far from the reach of fear

Safety enfolding, held in arms of strength

My greatest defence

When life keeps on changing

Taking me by surprise

Pulls the rug from under my feet

Draws the curtain over my eyes

Knocks the wind out of my sails

Stealing my breathe

Keeping me running, no rest.

Sometimes Shaken to the core

feeling raw, exposed, heartsore

When I need love to last

Love that is deep

Only your love is this love for me.

It feels like home

The safest place I know

My safest territory.

You keep me

You show me I belong

No more leaving

But staying, moving in

No longer visiting

but inhabiting

permanent living

And Hesitation to believe this

That your love is enough

Leaves me in a mess

Because It's when I leave

Im in a mess

Fear fuels the running

But love keeps me coming

closer to you

the more I know

How far you would go

to bring me home

The fewer journeys I make

Moving away

Because Every other house has let me down,

fallen down

Built on sand,

Nothing standing the test

But you are built to last

till the end for eternity

When earth fades

only heavenly things will remain

So I make my home in the eternal

As you make my your home in me

Before I've chosen you

You've already chosen me

Already pitched your tent

Taken up residence

Paving the way

Showing me what it means to stay

You never leave

Staying because you want to

Not out of duty or because you have to

making my heart your home

Now I’m making your heart my own

You are my home
