GLIMPSE

"God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again."

John 3:17 (The Message)

Glimpse

It is through the finest of movements

That the artist creates a masterpiece,

The brush and palette delicately worked,

And the composition appears.

It is in the patience and poise

Of the dancer that the flow of freedom

Is given grace by the delicate turn

Of practiced steps.

The hands and heart of the skilled worker

Combine to fashion and form,

To sculpt and shape, as beauty

Emerges through toil and tears.

And it is in the momentary blink of the camera’s lens

That the mundane and missable magic

Of the ordinary is captured and transformed,

And the story of our lives immortalised.

So too is the world restored,

Not in grand gesture

Nor through accusation and reproach

But through moments of tenderness,

Disarming words of welcome,

Gifts of kindness,

The embrace of forgiving arms.

And we glimpse a kingdom come.
